Fixed vs. Removable Appliances

Dr. Capps uses fixed appliances, like metal or clear braces, for more comprehensive, serious treatment. As the name suggests, we’ll attach these appliances to your teeth for the duration of your treatment.

For mild to moderate orthodontic problems, Dr. Capps may prescribe a removable appliance like clear aligners, which you’ll typically wear for 20 – 22 hours of the day and can remove for eating, brushing and flossing, and special occasions, like playing an instrument, giving a speech, or participating in sports.
